This Week's Haul!

This has been a great week, I must say. GotG has been released in theatres, Marvel Studios put Squirrel Girl into their vast and ever growing library, and a video with every Easter egg was uploaded to the interwebs.

I guess we'll start with GotG, which was freakin' awesome and incredibly fun. I'll try not to spoil anything, but be warned, their might be something below that might contain some stuff from the movie. Anyway, Guardians has been a critical success, with a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and earned $37 million on it's first night. It is projected to make $95 mil. on it's opening weekend, and it has bumped up the summer box office slump by 38%. This is great news for Disney/Marvel, James Gunn, and us fans. But especially James Gunn.
I am Groot.
You see, Mr. Gunn has other plans for the MCU (He wants to do a Thunderbolts like thing...) and the god known as Kevin Feige told him that he could do anything if GotG did well, which it did.  I would like to see more of Gunn in the MCU, because he did spectacular with the franchise's tenth movie, blending in action and sci-fi and comedy all in one movie. I really enjoyed the humor in the film, adult jokes that go over the kids' heads and the jokes that the whole family could enjoy.

The movie was great. From unique characters, to amazing special effects, the movie was certainly different: in a good way. But the one thing that truly stood out in this film was Awesome Mix Vol. 1. Hooked on a Feeling, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, I Want You Back, they all were chosen well for the certain scenes they were put in. If you, too, loved the AMV1, then you could buy the album on iTunes for $8.99. (Or you can download an MP3 app and download the songs.) Here is a list of songs if you are choosing the second option:

1. Hooked on a Feeling
2. Go All The Way
3. Spirit in the Sky
4. Moonage Daydream
5. Fooled Around and Fell in Love
6. I'm Not in Love
7. I Want You Back
8.Come and Get Your Love
9. Cherry Bomb
10. Escape (The Pina Colada Song)
11. O-O-H Child
12. Ain't No Mountain High Enough

Squirrel Girl. A woman, with the power, of squirrels. (Those things are evil. Planning to take over some day them pests.) In my opinion, she is pretty cool, and is definitely unique, which makes her perfect in the MCU, which is now trying to diverse-itize things. (Like when they put in GotG, and with Ant Man and Doc Strange.) Even though it would be neat to see her in the limelight of a movie, we all know that she isn't going to get one. She isn't big enough of a character to hold on her own film, but she definitely could see herself standing by Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. (She hung out with the two in the comics.) By that, I mean she could be put into the booming world of television, possibly being a Defender (Because ya' know, the MCU is different from the comic universe.) and would work well in the TV.

To wrap up this week's haul, here is a video of all the MCU Easter eggs.
